Dear Mr Bonar Law,
Hongkong, as a Colony, I presume is under you and
I should much like to have a couple of minutes with you X
about it any time next week when you are free.
The point I want to ask is will you allow 50 of the 1000 British Volunteers at Hongkong to go up to Canton and evict
the German Consul and his Bank and Post Office from the
British Concession at Shameen there?
I am told they could get up in the River steamer in ó
or 7 aours.
I raised the question of the Germans in this British
Concession at the end of my speech on the 11th November
and you will find it at col.1445/1446 of the Report for
that date,No 114.
The Foreign Office replies given to my questions No 6
at col.1428 of the Report No 102 for Thursday October
14th No 6 col.4 of Report for Tuesday October 26th No
106,and No 7 col.1796 of Report No 117 for Wednesday
November 11th present the whole case.
